The Aftermath

Only one word can describe the Halloween Party. AWESOME! I had so much fun. Some of the costumes were absolutely ridiculous ranging from the Burger King (who actually walked to and from the grill with burgers) to one of the more hairy men dressed up in coconuts and a grass skirt. So funny! The music was great (at least the second set), and I met some really cool people. I drank some wine, had some laughs, and got hit on by a 42 year old man who said he thought his reason for ending up at the party was me. I love drunk people. Of course the best part was being Hellvis' date. We looked so awesome. He defnitely got a lot of attention because of his costume. It was just and awesome night altogether. Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween Weekend

Tonight I am going to a halloween party. I haven't dressed up for halloween in years. I've never dressed up as something like I will be tonight. Tonight I will be the complete opposite of who I normally am, and I am seriously looking forward to the evening. I'm going to be a devil. Honestly, the costume looks more like an evil temptress. This is going to be fun.

I will be able to play this role tonight that I don't normally play. I may actually feel sexy. Who knows. Even more fun will be my date. An Elvis version of the Devil. All in all it should be an interesting night, and I hope I get plenty of pictures to remember it by.

More about the party to follow...

Drunk...Text Messaging

So last night I was sitting home doing my usual nothing because I live nowhere and know nobody here. So, I IM'd this guy that I'm 'friends' with. Asked him basically if he hadn't gone to work for some reason. All out of curiosity and boredom. Here is where the fun begins.

He proceeds to tell me, now mind you it's about four pm, that he couldn't work and that he is at a friends drinking vodka...and...thinking of me naked. Interesting combination if you ask me. As the evening proceeds, he starts sending me yet more and more text messages.

Now, I've never been drunk text messaged in my life. Drunk dialed, yes. Text messaged, this would be a first. Around five he starts trying to convince me to come down to where he lives. Starts spewing some weird stuff about getting married, and I'm thinking this is completely ridiculous. Then it moves to 'I love u, Come sleep w/me.' Now if that doesn't sound like some mind game to get someone to come have sex with you, I don't know what does. So, I call him.

He proceeds to get more and more defensive and sure of his feelings for me the more I deny it to him. Insistent that he's had feelings for me since we met however long ago. So, I keep trying to get him to admit it's just drunken banter and he finally hangs up on me. Oh the fun.

I go and talk to my sister, who says that I never do anything spontaneous. She thinks I should go down there to see if he is for real. What's the worst that can happen? You come back home? Sure...she's right. So, I text message him again.

He tells me to call for directions, so I do. I never heard such shock and amazement in a drunk persons voice in my life. It was like he was completely elated that I was willing to drive there at that hour considering it will take me the better part of two hours to get there. (It's almost eight pm at this point.) So, I didn't go. Instead I went about my nothing for a while. I went upstairs to change and see a text message telling me I'm awesome drunk or not. Pleasant end to a crazy night.

The moral of the story...don't profess your love for a girl:

1. Via text message
2. Drunk off your ass
3. Just to convince her to sleep with you

As funny as I found it to be...most women don't have the tolerance that I do.

Back into the dating game...

Okay...so I recently became single. Once again thrown into the dating pool by someone who probably didn't deserve me anyway. Not that I'm the greatest person in the world, but I gave my heart and soul into that relationship, and even gave up my life as I knew it for him. I moved across the country, only to be sent home, and dumped a month after I got here. Ehhh...fuck it...I'm over it.

So, back into the game I go. I've met a couple guys, been on a few dates. I'm finding that, though I'm attracted to people, I'm just not into it the way I should be. I'm still my friendly, cheerful self. But, it's like I turned my heart off, and it's too dark for anyone to find the on switch. Does that make any sense?

I'd like to know what it's like to feel again. I really would. The only happiness I feel now is happiness that I've given to myself. As good as that is for a person, you can only tolerate being happy alone for so long. Still, I'm trying to figure out just what it would take for me to really feel again. So, I've been thinking about this today.

I don't have extremely high standards, I don't think. We need to be attracted to eachother. We have to be able to laugh at eachother and at ourselves. I don't think that is too much to ask. I don't expect a man to always pay my way as nice as that can be. I was raised to take care of myself, and I do that just fine most of the time.

I think what I need is for someone to just sweep me off of my feet. To do something unexpected and romantic. To surprise me. Something I wouldn't see coming. I mean...I wouldn't want this all the time mind you. There wouldn't be any excitement in it that way. But, maybe something like that might bring warmth back to my heart again.

I guess we shall see...
